victo's axe...gone
went on a tombs run last night and everything was going so-so til we got to the bosses.
one of my teammates was asking to res her and while i was doing it, i died.
noone was ressing me. AT ALL even though i was asking to res and i know for a fact that i havent seen any res sigs used during the whole run.
well, lo and behold, i was dead and victo's axe dropped for me from the last boss. after going: RES ME, the monk finally listened and resed me with abt less than 10 seconds to spare (hate the fact that restore life takes so long). i clicked on my drop non-stop and of course, like a bad movie, someone was blocking my way. i was near it already, ready to pick it up and we zoned.
people not ressing you when they could have and should have should be fed to glint.

OK the trick to this is to leave a mob patrol on one of the sides alive. thus allowing you to fight the final bosses without a countdown getting in the way of retrieving your drops... This works quite well, but takes some timing. The opposite mob will kill all the ghosts when they appear, but that gives you time to pop in and get your item before finishing the mission.
good luck...

Once the timer starts, you should get ressed. Or, when you leave tombs all of your still reserved drops come back with you (in the same way that you can still get your drops after a mission is complete).

Have you ever monked?
Never res as a monk in battle.
On top of that, I find the constant calling of 'RES ME' very annoying, and I know I'm not the only monk that feels like that.
I *know* you are dead. I got other people to keep alive, I don't have 8 seconds to res you because then all other players die because you needed a res.
You got unlucky, missed a green drop. That is a shame. It happens, play on.

there's plenty of time after you kill the 3 mesmers before the return to tombs if she wasn't rezed in time it was not due to battle but incompetence by the party

The problem does not seem to be that the player did not get ressed in time. Rather, it sounds like someone very inconsiderate or unobservant was blocking movement to the Axe, as the O.P. could not get to it after being ressed. I can imagine this could very well happen quite easilly. After the countdown starts everyone who has picked up their drops will tend to try to catch their breath, and may even no longer look at the computer screen. So if they happen to be the one that is inadvertently blocking another, then it really is a poor unfortunate circumstance.

I'm wondering if the others were getting their greens before they decided to rez him..
Be careful about leaving a mob btw. Some people are using this to their advantage (aka giving enough time for the green to become unclaimed). Really, for the areas that are treated like missions (everyone dies u get return to outpost) should have the claim items box when you return. That solves the problem of scammers as well as timeouts.
A bonus would be if they could prioritize the drops to show greens first in that box so it doesn't fill up with crap.. However, there's some incentive to pick up your crap if you want those greens to appear in the box later.
EDIT: P.S. It might be a good idea to start bringing vengeance to tombs just for that very reason.

first of all, i was not spamming res me. i just put "RES ME" once. the reason why i wasnt spamming was because the other monk who died was spamming that he was dead and the other monk said he didnt have mana. when i said to res me i was referring to the other players who have not used their res sigs AND after the other monk was resed. i am fully aware that rebirth or restore life is a risky way to res someone during a battle that is why i was counting on the res sigs mainly the res sig of the ranger who was beside me not doing anything but picking up stuff.
secondly, i know it sucks and its annoying but that doesnt mean i dont have a right to share my experience with other people.

You are indeed entitled to share your experiences.
The way you wrote your post ("The monk finally listened") made me to believe you were addressing the monk with multiple calls.
It is a shame everytime someone misses a drop for a silly reason. But other drops will come. That said, I do symphatise with your loss of green, it blows I know.
I do like to point out that typing in CAPS is considered shouting in-game and on forums. A control click on your life bar ("X is dead") is usually more stylish.

i wouldve done that if the other monk who died wasnt filling the whole screen up with his call i dont like bugging people and spamming so i thought that one "RES ME" would actually be more noticed and less annoying after everything was done
ps. typing in caps for me isnt just for shouting..its also a form of stressing the word. :P

I think typing RES ME when your 100K drop is lying on the ground is an entirely appropriate use of Caps Lock.

Leaving a patrol might be even dumber, what if everyone in your team thinks "I WANT THAT ITEM!" you won't even get ressed, and they'll just sit back till the reserve is gone, and pick it up, I've seen them do it to me in a IDS run.

As someone else mentioned, in the future, make your group leave one side alive. This way you don't get a timer. No reason to kill both sides, it's just a waste of time.
Kill one side (and the pop ups), attach The Darkness from that side.

Excuse me...ahem...100K?
I got Victo's Sword and Victo's axe on one run. Sold the sword within one minute for 50K. Gave a guildie the axe for free. (Well he forced me to take a sword on trade, which I will be giving back.)
Maybe I should have sold it....
...nah, gold isn't that important.

It is a shame when such happens, and the team may have very well been waiting for the ownership to change.... Sad as it is, this is a common thing with pick up groups. Or maybe they just didn't realise, which would suggest they weren't the most observant of people.
If it makes you feel any better, the axe is more overrated than the razorstone, good for making ~ 100k though.... but sundering isn't that good
I play monk often, mainly in PVP.... and as a habit I also tend to forget to bring res in PVE, when I really should do... especially with a PUG... actually with most PUGs I tend to wish I was equipped with unyielding aura and blessed signet
